By using Bill Advantage, you agree to these terms. The most important one: Bill Advantage is a document literacy tool. Nothing we produce is legal or medical advice.

What Bill Advantage is

Bill Advantage is a document literacy platform with analysis tools covering medical billing, insurance documents, prior authorization appeals, pharmacy disputes, Medicare and VA benefits, and healthcare financial planning. We help individuals understand healthcare billing documents, identify potential errors, and draft correspondence to insurers and providers. All VA tools are permanently free for all users at all tiers. Bill Advantage uses aggregated, anonymized outcome data from resolved disputes to calibrate analysis guidance. This data contains no personal identifiers and cannot be linked to any individual user or claim.

Bill Advantage collects optional user feedback including star ratings and written comments submitted through the platform. Authenticated feedback is associated with your account. Feedback submitted through public pages is not tied to any user account. Feedback data is used solely to improve the platform and is never shared with third parties.

We are not attorneys, physicians or licensed financial advisors. We do not provide legal advice, medical advice, or financial advice.

Accepting these terms

By using Bill Advantage, creating an account, or requesting an analysis, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your responsibilities

By using Bill Advantage, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are the patient, the patient's authorized representative, or otherwise have the right to share any document you submit
  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You will not submit documents on behalf of others without their knowledge and consent
  • You understand the analysis is informational only and does not create a professional relationship of any kind

Free trial

New accounts receive 7 calendar days of full Member access at no charge, with no credit card required. At the end of the trial period, your account automatically moves to the Starter plan. No charge is applied unless you choose to upgrade to a paid tier. One trial per email address.

Subscription and billing

Paid subscriptions (Member and Family tiers) are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access through that date.

Refund policy

Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Annual subscriptions may be refunded on a prorated basis if you request a refund within 30 days of your annual billing date. To request a refund, email support@billadvantage.com with the subject line "Refund request." Refund requests after 30 days of the annual billing date will not be honored.

What we do not guarantee

Bill Advantage makes no guarantees about:

  • The accuracy or completeness of any analysis
  • The outcome of any dispute, appeal, or claim you file using our output
  • Whether any letter we draft will be accepted or acted upon by any insurer, provider, or government agency
  • Whether the information we provide is current, as billing codes, regulations, and payer policies change frequently

Billing codes, regulatory citations, and payer-specific rules should be verified at cms.gov or with a qualified professional before you act on them.

No professional relationship

Using Bill Advantage does not create an attorney-client relationship, a patient-provider relationship, or any other professional relationship. We are a document literacy tool. Our output is information, not advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bill Advantage and its founders, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on any analysis or letter produced by the service. Your use of Bill Advantage is at your own risk.

Intellectual property

The analyses and letters we produce for you are yours to use. The Bill Advantage platform, design, prompts, and underlying system are owned by Bill Advantage and may not be copied or reproduced.

Prohibited use

You may not use Bill Advantage to:

  • Submit documents you do not have the right to share
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or replicate our analysis methodology
  • Submit false or fabricated documents
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent trial or usage limits

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Personal Health Agent

Agent behavior: The Bill Advantage agent surfaces recommendations and drafts actions based on your account data. You approve all actions before they are executed. The agent does not act autonomously or on your behalf without your explicit instruction.

Mental health and crisis resources: Bill Advantage is a financial tool and is not a substitute for mental health care. The chat feature is not monitored by mental health professionals. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the Veterans Crisis Line at 988 (press 1), the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), or emergency services.

Informational only: Agent recommendations, analysis outputs, and chat responses are informational only and do not constitute legal, medical, or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying any recommendation before acting on it. Always consult qualified professionals for legal, medical, or financial decisions.

Conversation history: Your right to clear conversation history at any time via Account settings. Conversation history is automatically deleted after 90 days of account inactivity, with 7 days advance notice by email.

Proactive monitoring: The service monitors your account data on a scheduled basis and may send in-app notifications and emails based on findings. You can manage notification preferences in Account settings.

Veteran access: Proactive monitoring is available at no cost on all account tiers including Starter. The chat interface requires a Member subscription. VA analysis tools remain permanently free for all tiers.

No clinical advice: The agent does not provide medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or clinical decision support of any kind. It analyzes billing documents, insurance communications, and benefits information from a financial and administrative perspective only.

Anonymized Outcome Data

When you mark a claim as resolved with a recovery amount, Bill Advantage records a fully anonymized outcome entry containing no personal identifiers. This data is used in aggregate to improve the guidance provided to all users. No individual record can be traced back to your account or any specific claim.

By using Bill Advantage and recording resolved claim outcomes, you consent to the collection of this anonymized aggregate data as described in our Privacy Policy. You may stop contributing to this data at any time by not marking claims as resolved with a recovery amount, or by closing your account.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
